A gathering for innovative businesses from various industries – VISION 2045 Summit – presented by acclaimed production company TBD Media Group, addressed the thorniest challenge for mankind and answered the calling of “Together for implementation”.
In response to the COP27, which was being held by the United Nations simultaneously in Sharm El-Sheikh, and against a backdrop of rising climate urgencies, the TBD Media Group brought over 100 world-leading innovative business operators to join a three-day summit and share insightful business solutions for tackling climate change.
It was an unmissable opportunity for the private sector to pledge this mission for mankind, utilising aspirations and innovation to build momentum, in order to achieve sustainability for the world at large. H.E. Mr. Martin Kimani, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said during the first day of the Vision 2045 Summit, “Sustainability was the business of politicians and the governments. Now, it becomes clear to the private sectors that in order for their businesses to move forward, they must start to engage more with the political leaders and become more active on this matter.”
Alina Gerke, Communications and Outreach Specialist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), elaborated further, saying, “For many years, scientists have been warning us about the catastrophic results of the climate if the world reaches a 1.5 Celsius temperature increase. I am pleading with the private sector to reconsider your roles, because how can we ensure a better future if the leaders of tomorrow are not here to discuss with us today?”
The Vision 2045 Summit has featured several panels centered around the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, including Gender and Equity, Zero Hunger, and Climate Action. For instance, Stefan Siemer, the Head of Corporate Sustainability of Weleda AG and Weleda Group, has shared the essence of his two-decade experience in sustainability, brand, and communication strategy.
There is still an opportunity for progress in this regard, as COP28 will focus on continuing to tackle the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals that would connect the dots for the world. TBD Media Group is honored to fight the battle alongside COP, and present next year’s Vision 2045 Summit, which will be happening in Dubai.
Paolo Zanini, the founder and CEO of TBD Media Group says, “It is sometimes challenging to grasp just how quickly climate change and sustainability have moved into our everyday life. However, one thing is clear, it’s my firm belief that the business community and innovative entrepreneurs of our times will be the ones offering the solutions.”
The TBD Media Group pledges with Olive Gaea, welcoming future contributions from the business community. Every business that has attended the VISION 2045 summit, will have a tree planted in UAE, combating desertification in line with Dubai 2040 Vision, and offsetting carbon footprint for the planet.
