EUROCAMP RESEARCH REVEALS A RETURN TO FAMILIAR PLACES AND STRESS-FREE CHOICES FOR BRITS’ SUMMER HOLIDAY PLANS
- DEMAND ALREADY SOARING FOR POPULAR DESTINATIONS LIKE BRITTANY, PARIS, VENDEE AND THE NETHERLANDS
As holidays return to normal, it seems we’re returning to our old favourite places – with getaway nostalgia helping bookings to popular destinations rocket for summer 2022. According to holiday specialists Eurocamp, demand for much-loved and previously visited parcs is already high with one in two of all returning customers having rebooked a parc they’ve previously visited. Close to home destinations and ferry-friendly locations have been proving the most popular too.
Fueled by the memories of happy holidays past, British travelers are choosing breaks they can get to easily – by ferry and car – and that don’t require them to venture too far.
Eurocamp reports that bookings to their parcs in Northern France – including historic Normandy and Brittany – are three times more popular compared to regions located further away. And reservations for parcs around cosmopolitan Paris, the beautiful coastal Vendée region and the Netherlands are up by the same amount too.
For those looking to secure a trip, there is still availability at selected parcs, with some great deals for May half-term and summer breaks.
In Brittany, La Grande Métairie parc is a great choice for families looking to enjoy some quality time together close to the coast. Set in beautiful woodland and boasting a fantastic pool complex with waterslides and amazing sports facilities, there is plenty to see and do.

Looking ahead to summer, Normandy’s La Vallée is ever popular – and an easy journey from the UK.
Take advantage of the parc’s family-friendly facilities, countryside setting and access to gorgeous, historic beaches to enjoy seven nights away from 25 August 2022, in a three-bedroom Comfort Compact holiday home for £1,033 per family.
Staying at La Croix du Vieux Pont, gives travellers a perfect base for taking a day trip the thrills of Disneyland Paris and the big-city sights of Paris itself. With its own beachside lagoon lake, four pools and a whole host of sports and activities, it has something for everyone. A seven-night summer break from 25 August 2022, staying in a three bedroom Comfort holiday home is available to book now for £1,083 per family.
The Netherlands is becoming more and more popular and Duinrell parc in Southern Holland is an ideal place for families wanting to get away and enjoy the great outdoors. Take your pick of activities, including an on-site theme park and super-sized water park for an unforgettable break. Speaking about the trends, Eurocamp’s Marketing Director, Chris Hilton, says: “The recent ‘Hello Again’ campaign highlights that we have all been remembering those little moments that make foreign trips so memorable.
“Now it seems we’re looking to recapture that feeling, booking holidays that make us feel happy and safe, in places we know or that aren’t too far from home.”
